How we recovered a water-damaged iPhone
An iPhone that had taken a dunk and refused to power on — brought back to full working order with the owner's photos and messages intact.

The challenge
The phone had been dropped in water and, after the owner tried to charge it, stopped responding entirely. With no recent backup, the real worry wasn't the handset — it was the photos and messages on it.
What we did
We powered it down safely and opened it up promptly, because corrosion keeps doing damage long after a device feels dry. The logic board was given a proper clean to remove the conductive residue left by the liquid, and the corroded components were identified and replaced. At each stage the priority was protecting the data, not just reviving the phone.
The result
The iPhone powered back up and tested fully functional — and crucially, the owner's photos and messages were all there. We talked them through setting up a backup so a future spill would only ever be an inconvenience.
