This policy explains how Dead or Alive Technology ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you contact us, request a quote, use our services, or visit this website. We are the "data controller" for this information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Dead or Alive Technology, 6 Stewarton Street, Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, ML2 8AN.

The information we collect
We only collect what we need to help you:
- Information you give us — when you submit our quote or contact form, or get in touch by phone or email: your name, email address, phone number, the device type and fault or service you need, and any details you choose to share.
- Service information — if you proceed with a repair or IT service: details of the device or systems, the work carried out, and records needed to provide the service and honour any warranty.
- Technical information — our web host and security provider automatically log limited data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to keep the site secure and working.
We do not ask for special-category data. Please don't send us sensitive personal information through the website forms. If you hand in a device, you are responsible for backing up and, where possible, removing personal data first — see our Terms.
How and why we use it
We use your personal data on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
- To respond to enquiries and provide quotes — to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you.
- To provide repairs and IT services — to perform our contract with you.
- To keep our site and forms secure (including anti-spam checks) — our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — to comply with the law (for example, keeping invoices and tax records).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We share data only where necessary, with trusted providers acting on our behalf:
- Our website hosting and email providers, to operate the site and communicate with you.
- Cloudflare, for spam and bot protection on our forms.
- Professional advisers, payment providers, or authorities where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Some providers (such as our security provider) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement to keep your data protected.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer records only as long as needed for the purpose we collected them, to provide ongoing support and warranties, and to meet legal obligations (financial records are generally kept for six years). After that we securely delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to erase your data, or restrict or object to how we use it;
- request a copy of certain data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these, email repairs@deadoralivetechnology.com. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and secure handling of devices — to protect your information against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
Children
Our services are aimed at adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
