Terms & Conditions
Last updated
These terms govern your use of this website and the services provided by Dead or Alive Technology ("we", "us", "our"). By using our site or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Using our website
You may use this site for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or disrupt its operation. We may update or withdraw any part of the site at any time. While we work to keep information accurate and up to date, we provide the site "as is" and don't guarantee it is error-free or always available.
2. Intellectual property
The content, branding and design of this site are owned by Dead or Alive Technology or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and print pages for your own reference, but you may not reproduce or reuse our content without permission. Manufacturer and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only — their mention does not imply any affiliation or authorisation unless we state so explicitly.
3. Quotes and pricing
Prices shown on the site are a guide. The final price for a repair is confirmed in a written quote after we have diagnosed the device, and may vary depending on the device, parts required and the fault found. Quotes are valid for a reasonable period and are subject to parts availability.
4. Diagnostic deposit
A £30 diagnostic deposit applies to repairs. It covers the time taken to inspect and diagnose your device. If you approve the repair, the deposit is credited toward the final cost. If you choose not to proceed after diagnosis, the deposit covers our diagnostic work and is non-refundable. We will always tell you the likely cost before carrying out any chargeable work.
5. Repairs
- Back up your data. Please back up your device before handing it in. While we take care, repairs can carry a risk of data loss, and you are responsible for your own backups. We are not liable for loss of data.
- Parts. We use quality parts; where genuine manufacturer parts are unavailable we may use high-quality compatible parts and will tell you if so.
- Warranty. Repairs are covered by a workmanship warranty. The warranty does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental or liquid damage, or tampering after the repair. Please ask us for the current warranty period.
- Uncollected items. Please collect your device promptly once the repair is complete. Items left uncollected for an extended period after we notify you may be subject to storage charges or disposal in line with applicable law.
6. Business IT services
Ongoing business IT, managed services and support may be provided under a separate service agreement or statement of work, which will take precedence over these terms where they conflict.
7. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — for example, that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill. For more information about your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
8. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and to your consumer rights above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or business losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service.
9. Links to other sites
Our site may link to third-party websites for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed; the version in force is the one published here when you use our site or services.
